December 5th? How'd That Happen?!?

I go to Chaing Mai in 17 days!!!! Woo Hoo!! I better find a place to stay...

How are you guys? Things have been busy, busy, busy here. 54 working days left at my current job, and although I know I'll be crying like a baby when it comes time to say goodbye to my kids, right now I feel like it can't come soon enough! I am more than ready for a change! I think I have an amazingly sweet job lined up, but I don't wanna jinx it so I'm not giving details just yet.

And yes, I've been running. Everyday. Aren't you proud of me?

Holy shit. Can you even imagine?!?!?

World Peace Through Beer

It's been about 6 weeks, so I figure it's time to post some pictures from World Peace Through Beer - also known as the day Allie and I discovered that hashers will do anything for a tiny paper cup filled halfway with warm beer.
We met in Jamsil, at World Peace Park, which is one of my favorite places in Seoul. It was a beautiful day and there were tons of people. Since I was still pretty sick at the time, I volunteered to sit on my ass and serve beer from New Zealand (thanks, DQ!) to the hashers who actually did trail. Allie volunteered to stay with me, and we had a blast. We didn't have nearly enough beer for everyone (especially after we started drinking it), so we decided that if someone wanted some, they had to earn it by entertaining us. Ever see that show 'America's Got Talent?' Yeah, it was like that...some people rose to the occasion, and others...they didn't get any beer.
Best joke award went to Timberballs, and best overall performance went to the pyramid. After the beer was gone we circled up, ate some food, scared the locals away and listened to some tunes provided by Timberballs. It was a good day.

December 1st

Earlier this week, at one of my many dr. appointments, my genius doctor offered this advice to me in regards to starting to run again: "If it hurts, or if you're really out of breath, you should stop." Uhhh...thanks, retard. I'm planning to start running after a very long time of almost no physical activity. Of course it's gonna hurt!! Of course I'm gonna be out of breath!!

So yesterday I woke up pretty early (for a Saturday) and was actually excited to get moving. But first, those stitches...my doctor had said "a few more days" and, well, it had been a few days so I cut them out. Big mistake. It wasn't time. Oops! So I superglued the incision together and headed out. So much for having no scar! I decided to run in the gym since I've been having some random dizzy spells from time to time, and I figured if I was gonna pass out I should do it around people who can stare awkwardly and ask if I'm OK instead of just lying on the ground somewhere. Living in Yaksu, everyone would just assume I was passed out drunk and leave me there.

I don't have a fancy schmancy Garmin or anything to give you guys all the details, but I know I was slow. And it hurt, and I was out of breath, and I loved it! The treadmill said I did a 5k somewhere in the mid 30-minute range (told you I was slow!). But it also said I was a man (I'm not) and weighed 90 kg (I don't).

When I got home I had planned to clean my apartment but I talked to Shelly and decided she had done enough cleaning for both of us. So instead I put together my annual I HATE CHRISTMAS CD. If you want me to burn you a copy (seriously, it's good) let me know and send me your address.
