Friday Feast #98

Appetizer
What is a word that you use that would not be considered common?

Dendrofilous. I use it everyday. Sometimes twice.

Soup
What theme of calendar do you have on your wall this year?

I actually don't have a calendar here, unless you count the one on my cell phone. I never know what day it is. Every morning I ask my kinders 'What day is it today?' And they reply "Today is Friday. It is June 16th, 2006!" And I'm thinking "Holy shit! Is it really June 16th already???? What the hell happened to May?!?!?"

Salad
Name 3 people you speak with by telephone a regular basis.

Hmmm...we talking quality or quantity? I do very little phone talking now that I'm here in Seoul. Many, many texts but few calls. Unless Min is in town, in which case I completely phone stalk him. :)

Main Course
If you could buy a new outfit for someone you know - who would it be and what would you purchase for them?

Not sure...it would be fun to put Brownie in a Penn State outfit...but being the selfish bitch that I am I would probably buy a new outfit for myself!! I'm not exactly sure what it would be, but it would be fabulous and have great shoes that matched perfectly.

Dessert
What was the last beverage you drank?

I know it's pretty boring, but I just drank a ton of water. I've been trying to drink more water, but it's just so...watery. I'm so much more of a coffee/soda/mango juice and soju/beer person.

Here's another pic of Andrew. He's named after QNL because they have so many similar personality traits. On Tuesday (the day of Korea's 1st game) he did nothing in class but wave his paper flag and sing the Korean chants. Today was the first time I've seen him since the game, and it's all he wanted to talk about. Unfortunately his English isn't quite good enough to have a real conversation about anything. Not that he minded. He just chatted away to me in Korean for a solid half hour, and then spent the rest of the class re-enacting Korea's 2 goals. The girls in the class absolutely adore him...can you blame them???

Just saw that the US death toll in Iraq has hit 2500. Plus countless injuries and lifelong physical and mental disabilities.

I don't understand why the American people are so damn apathetic about our current administration. 2008 can't come soon enough.

I'm an Idiot...

I have many, many talents (oh, wouldn't you like to know!!!) but unfortunately computers are not something I'm good with. Seriously, I'm not old enough to be this computer illiterate!! Why the hell can't I add stuff to my sidebar without everything moving all the way to the bottom of my blog?!?!? Other people can do it...I wanna do it too!!! Someone email me, call me or fill me in on what I'm doing wrong...

WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS!!!

Last night Shelly and I housed the competition to become the MIXED DOUBLES INTERDENOMINATIONAL KOREAN CHALLENGE 2006 CHAMPIONS!!! Check out our trophy!!! We are clearly way too cool for you!!!

ROCKIN' OUT!!

Shelly makes Stevie Ray Vaughn jealous while I keep the beat!

Met up with Shelly, Rachel Lynn, Cam, Saejin, and their friend Heidi last night. We started with some yummy Indian food at Chakraa's in Itaewon. After dinner we headed out to find a place that wasn't too far for crippled RL to hobble on her crutch but was still showing the England game, because Cam and Heidi had their hearts set on watching it. They went ahead to scout out a place, and then had us meet them at our first stop of the night, Woodstock. By the time we were half finished with our first round of beers they decided they didn't want to stay. EVEN THOUGH THEY HAD PICKED THE PLACE!! But no big deal, there's plenty of bars to go to. Once again, Cam and Heidi went ahead to scout out the scene while Saejin, Shelly, Rachel Lynn and I hung back at Woodstock and had some more drinks. Shelly and I performed a rocking duet, proving once again to all of our fans that we are, without question, the world's greatest air band.

After our stunning performance, we decided on a whim to compete in the Mixed Doubles Interdenominational Korean Challenge 2006. I felt pretty confident going into the tournament, but towards the end we came up against a pretty tough looking bald guy. I was a little worried, but Shelly was like, "We're gonna use his bald head to shine the floor!!!" And guess what??? WE WON!!! WOO HOO!! We fuckin' rock!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Anyway, after the closing ceremony (where we got the coolest trophy ever!!) we headed to Helio's (too many soldiers!!) to continue getting our drink on. Cam and Heidi's quest to watch the England game was not really working out, and they were bummed. So Cam, Heidi, and Saejin left pretty early. Too bad. They missed a really fun night over what turned out to be a super dull game. Anyway, the rest of us had a night full of the usual mayhem - drinking, dancing, talking shit from the balcony to people on the street, that sort of stuff. Around 3 I put my ass in a taxi and headed home, drunk dialing Gwan-sic on the way (sorry about that!!). Once home, it took me about 3 minutes to fall asleep. It was a pretty fun night - well worth the headache I suffered through for most of today!!

WE WON!!!

i stole this pic, too

Argentina went to town on the Ivory Coast last night. Woo Hoo!! And congrats to England, who barely pulled out a win because they were too busy griping about how hot it was. Babies!!

ZOO TRIP

This week we took the kids to the zoo for a field trip. It was so much fun! The kids were loving it...until it started pouring, forcing us to leave early. My poor preschoolers...the thunder scared them half to death!! Here's some pics!!
