Friday night, in celebration of the Regina (hee hee) crew's VERY FIRST KOREAN PAYCHECK, all of the foreign teachers at my school headed north to Hongdae to feast on meat, side dishes, pumpkin soup, various forms of alcohol, and ice cream at Carne Station. We had such a great time we decided that it would become a regular payday tradition.
If you've never been to Carne Station it's a pretty good gig, worth checking out at least once. 25,000 won paid at the door, and then they turn you loose for an all you can eat and drink fest. The place isn't going to win any awards for their food, but it's definitely more than edible, and before I had even cooked up my plate of sam gyeop sal I had already drank more than 25,000 won worth of beer and whiskey. And vodka. And a tiny bit of soju. And I was the sober one in the group!!
We spent a few hours there, eating, drinking, chatting, meeting other customers, and then we headed into the streets of Hongdae, which were packed. My coworkers were set on going noraebanging, so I walked around with them until we found a suitable venue for their amazing vocal skills. Once we found a place I took off for the short walk to Sangsu station (easier than transferring) and headed home cause I had an early morning planned.
p.s. If you wanna go, I recommend making a reservation. The number for the Hongdae branch is 02-334-1238. You're on your own for other locations.

kind of like american "all you can eat" place?
Just like that, but alcohol and non-alcoholic drinks are also included in the price!!
Carne Station is what I miss most about Seoul.
Just had to tell you that....
I totally understand.
